How to choose the optimal packaging material?
To choose the optimal polyethylene packaging, it is important to consider the characteristics, size and weight of the product to be packed, as well as the conditions of transport and storage. The thickness, transparency, tensile strength and flexibility of the packaging should also be considered. Also important is how the material will perform in environmental conditions such as UV resistance or temperature resistance.
It is recommended to consult our experts to choose the materials and technologies that best meet your packaging needs, and we can help you select the products that best comply with industry standards and have the necessary certifications.
Which are the questions that help you to choose the optimal product?
The following list will give you a good idea of the needs/requirements for packaging:
- What is the product size?
- What is the colour of the product? ((Is there a specific master batch ID?)
- What is it used for? (Where in the product journey will the customer encounter our product?)
- What product is loaded into them?
- What is the shape of the filling product?
- What is the weight of the filling product?
- Will the packing product be for manual or machine use?
- Does the product need special testing? (Are there any parameters that need to be specifically certified?)
- At what temperature, in what environment is it used (room temperature, hot filling, freezing, long term refrigeration, etc.)
- Under what conditions is it stored?
- Can the raw material be determined (is a specific recipe available?)
- Is a sample available that can be consulted?
- How relevant is the dimension accuracy, i.e. the degree of tolerance? Is there a specific parameter that could compromise production at the customer?
- Are there any other requirements? (slip, anti-slip, corrosion protection, electrostatic charge protection, electrostatic discharge protection, UV protection, etc.)
- Are packing instructions, packing schema available? (what kind of pallet, max how high, packed in foil or box, how many packing units, how should pallet be trained and secured?
